CreepyPasta
/ Creepypasta
The completionist in me compelled me to do a write-up on CreepyPasta, much to the chagrin of every other fiber of my being. This is an anthology that I actively started to black out after watching, but as it is the namesake of a category on the site... Well, let’s pull the band-aid and get it done as quickly as possible.
Like most modern horror anthologies, CreepyPasta follows a tried-and-tested formula: A protagonist is forced to watch short, gruesome videos under duress, all of which wrap up into one little package. Very much like V/H/S, in other words.
Now, the thing about the shorts is that very few of them are even remotely interesting. Only one can qualify as vaguely creepy (involving a little girl and her not-so-imaginary friend), and another brought out a few chuckles (a bad boy who always breaks the rules). To the best of my knowledge, none of the stories were based on any familiar creepypastas like the Slender Man or whatever.
What you’re left with are humorless, dull shorts and a wet blanket of a framing device.
And frankly, that’s all I got to say about CreepyPasta. Thank god for my self-induced blackout.
